NHIN Health Information Exchanges (NHIEs) demonstrating
the Ambulatory Medication Management scenario
Speaker: Chris Voigt the Narrator continues.

Today’s demonstration is the culmination of collaborative work among the N-H-I-N participants which include both Federal and Private care providers.  Included in our demo are Kaiser Permanente, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and CareSpark, demonstrating the exchange of consumer health information.

The Medication History and Allergy Information document is one of several specifications defined as part of the N-H-I-N consortium.

Medication history is a record of current and past prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, and herbal supplements.  This scenario also utilizes an additional defined document type, the “Self Management by Patient”, which contains health related information entered and maintained directly by the consumer.

All providers, independent of the size of their organization, will have the capabilities demonstrated by this scenario.

At this time let me introduce Dr. Bestermann, from CareSpark, who will tell you about his organization.
